Cataract : Symptoms

Although cataracts develop without pain or discomfort, there are some indications that a cataract may be forming. These include:-

  1. Blurred or hazy vision.
  2. Sensitivity to sunlight (glare) or the feeling of having a film over the eyes.
  3. Appearance of spots in front of the eyes.
  4. Double vision or ghost images.
  5. Loss of ability to see brightness of colors.
  6. Discolored (white) pupil.
  7. Difficulty with daily activities such as driving and reading.
  8. Poor night vision.
  9. Temporary improvement in near vision may also indicate the formation of a cataract.
